Ambarau Hydro Power Plant – Another Successful Commissioning!

WD Power, in collaboration with HPP, have concluded the Ambarau Hydro Project at Kibali Gold Mines. WD Power had the responsibility of the Full Turbine and Hydro-Mechanical systems installation at the Hydro Plant which comprises of a complete Dam fed Intake and Forebay system, supplying 2off 5,4MW Horizontal Kaplan units.
The Project, supervised under DRA (EPCM Contractor), proved to be a challenging, yet rewarding one. All the contractors on site made the best of the circumstance and formed together as one team pushing deadlines and milestone to deliver the client with a world class Hydro Plant. WD Power managed to mesh well with the Civil Works Contractor, M&T DRC (TEICHMANN Group), overcoming obstacles quick and efficiently to delivery works to specification and quality expected by the Client.
We now look forward to the successful Installation and Commissioning of the New Azambi plant, which will be the 4^th Hydro Plant installation at Kibali Gold Mines, DRC.
