PAT Controller

WD Power has adapted its micro hydro turbine controller for use in Pump as Turbine (PAT) installations. This scaled-down version of the original controller provides essential voltage control for small turbines and supports remote communication.

Key Features:

1. Voltage Control via Dump Load: Ensures stable output by diverting excess energy to a dump load. The load is disconnected under unstable conditions.
2. Excitation of 3-Phase Induction Generator: Drives the turbine efficiently.
3. Wi-Fi Web Interface: Allows for monitoring and configuration of the controller.
4. Remote Access: Enables remote monitoring and control if internet connectivity is available on-site.

Flexible Configuration:

The controller is designed with a highly adaptable configuration, allowing users to tailor it to specific site requirements. It is particularly suited for PAT installations linked to centre pivot irrigation systems, where power generated by the PAT is dedicated to the pivot. The controller can be configured to power an inverter or provide direct AC supply to the pivot.

Proven Technology:

The core technology of this controller has been validated in our original turbine controller panels. This compact version offers a practical solution for customers with existing turbines or irrigation specialists seeking direct turbine management.
