Second phase installation completed at Kibali, Ambarau, Hydro Power Station

The second, and final, phase of the Ambarau Hydro station has been completed by WD Power in an impressive schedule of 19 weeks.
The second phase installation comprised of the complete rotating line and all turbine auxiliaries. Many hours were spent ensuring that HPP’s stringent alignment tolerances were met so that the true turbines efficiencies could be realized when the turbines will be energized.
Second phase installation also included all the Hydro-Mechanical equipment upstream, and downstream, of the Kaplan units. The WD Power installation team were placed under accentuating pressure on site to meet the scheduled dates, but as always, they delivered unscathed.
The WD site team can be proud of delivering a high quality Hydro Turbine installation to Kibali Mine for the 3^rd time, on schedule and within budget.
